My name is Sami Seaton. I'm 22-years old attending from Minnesota. I am attending Walden University, class of 2011, for a Master's in Mental Health Counseling.
I'd always known I wanted to get my Master's in Counseling immediately after graduating from my 4-year degree. The reason I wanted to get my Master's is because the type of job I've always dreamed of, you needed to have a Master's. I would love to open up my own practice in marriage and family counseling.
I wouldn't say that I found Walden, I would say that Walden found me. I saw Walden's ad on TV and looked them up in February and in March I was taking my first course. It's very convenient, I can work on my own time and I can also keep a full-time job.
Up until starting my Walden Master's program, I had just been waitressing and substitute teaching, but recently I was offered a position in the counseling field dealing with adolescents and families. So the main hiring point would be that I'm working on a Master's towards something in this area so Walden definitely helped me out and is helping me get towards my dream job day-by-day.
